In Memory of Supporting Sorour Preschool in Honor of our Beloved Fatemeh Riasatfard

My mother lost her battle against COVID-19 last month. She might no longer be with us, but my siblings and I are trying to help her spirit– and her love for education– live forever. In order to do so, we have decided to fund a preschool for underprivileged children in a village in Fars Province. The school will be named after what my mother’s loved ones use to call her dearly- Sorour, meaning joy, happiness. That is exactly what my mother brought to our lives and what we hope this newly funded school brings to the students attending it. One hundred percent of raised funds will go towards building and opening the preschool, the educational materials needed to properly equip it, the teacher salaries, and other necessary equipment and materials for the school to operate successfully. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us honor my Mother and above all we thank you for helping us keep her alive with this beautiful project that will bring so much SOROUR to children in need. Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones in this difficult time.

Our Mission

Our Mission is to break the cycle of poverty by helping children stay in school.

Keep Children In School (KCIS) implements its mission by either matching sponsors directly to children whose families cannot afford to keep them in school or accept one time donations, thus enabling them to continue their education from elementary school through college.

What began in 2000 as a small project by family and friends to “give back,” KCIS evolved into a recognized charity in 2010 in the state of California and received its OFAC license (IA-16947) from the department of treasury in 2012.

Help a Child

You can help a child by making a general donation, becoming a sponsor, or contributing to their back to school or Nowruz shopping.

Dedicate an Event

Dedicate your special day and help change lives. It’s easy! Create an event on our website and ask your guests to donate to KCIS in lieu of gifts.
