Mission & Vision

Our vision is to break the cycle of generational poverty through the transformative power of education. Guided by this vision, we strive to equip every child with the tools and resources necessary for academic excellence, fostering a world where equal access to quality education is not a privilege, but a fundamental right. Our mission is underscored by our dedication to empowering children from underserved areas and underprivileged backgrounds, enabling them to transcend the confines of poverty and realize their fullest potential. We envision a future where education serves as the cornerstone of a globally enlightened society. Through our efforts, every child will have the opportunity to thrive, contribute, and shape a brighter tomorrow.

Our Founder

Jila Kashef

Jila Kashef steered the organization as President and CEO from 2010 to 2020. Her visionary spirit birthed both KCIS and its operational arm Association for Youth Development and Mentoring (AYDM) in Iran. Jila’s journey started with her volunteer work at the Iranian Children’s Rights Society (ICRS). A graduate in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Kassel in Germany, Jila later obtained certificates in IT after immigrating to the States and had a career in Information Technology at Sony Pictures Entertainment. Despite her early retirement due to her battle with metastatic breast cancer, she dedicated herself to the cause of serving underprivileged children, ensuring they are given the opportunity to stay in school. Her legacy continues to be woven into KCIS’s heart.
